What is Deutschmusikland? How did we come about? It all started when I, Mikki, superior co-founder, asked my buddy, Joe, the other superior co-founder, if I should make a German music club on Yahoo... he, of course, being all superior, said, "YES!!!" & I made him a co-founder after forcing him to come up w/ a name :) The name was, naturally, Deutschmusikland, which we fondly shortened to "DML" because we're lazy, & the rest, as they say, is history... (Maybe I should mention that when Joe ran off on us & didn't have internet access, I adroitly handled the situation by making Nick a co-founder... I didn't even ASK him, I just DID it! That's because he LOVES German music, too! Well, not good stuff, like punk, but... anyway, that's where our third superior co-founder came from, in case anyone is interested... I mean, did I really want to do the features every week MYSELF?! It's called delegation & I'm clearly good at it) ;)

We've been discussing & featuring bands who are from Germany or have some songs in German since July of 2000 & have been harassing people in chat rooms & bugging friends of friends ever since... We've forced, er... encouraged over a hundred people to join & try to *encourage* more everyday :)

The site was created as a suppliment to the club when one day Yahoo deided to be even more evil than normal & announced, "We are changing all clubs to mailing lists!" We were not quite sure what to make of that! In fact, we thought the club page would be completely eliminated so in a mad state of panic, I (who am given to mad states of panic now & then), freaked out & told Nick we MUST get a site up immediately before, I dunno, something bad happened... so here we are at the present, the result of panic & mayhem... but it's had a positive result! Interviews, much bigger bios than we were allowed on Yahoo... all good! Panic, mayhem & German music, they all seem to work so come back often & sign our guestbook, dammit! ;)
