What we did in September, 2003...
Music News:
Since DML has not been properly updated in the news section for a while, I will now dispense some of the major news happening in German music...
Apocalyptica:(Finland)
Apocalyptica will release a cover of Rammstein’s song "Seemann" on a single October 6th. The cover will also feature the female singer Nina Hagen.
ASP:
ASP’s new album "Weltunter" has been released on August 18th. Samples can be found on http://www.thetalesofasp.com, their official website.
Atrocity:
Atrocity is slowly working on a new album, however they are also working on a project called Leaves’ Eyes which features members of Atrocity and Theater of Tragedy. In related news, Liv Kristine (Theater of Tragedy) and Alex Krull (Atrocity) were married in July. The wedding was held at a castle in southwest Germany and was aired on a TV special called "Rock 4 U", a rock and metal show by Rockfabrik Ludwigsburg on BTV.
Eisbrecher:
Eisbrecher’s second single and album release have been delayed. The single which was going to be "Schwarze Witwer" has been cancelled and will be replaced with "Fanatika" and is set to be released September 22nd. "Eisbrecher", the album, will be released in January 2004.
KMFDM:
KMFDM will be touring in October and November. A full list of dates and locations can be found here http://www.kmfdm.net/tour.htm.
Knorkator:
Knorkator will release their next album "Ich Hasse Musik" on September 15th. The limited edition of this album will feature a remix of a song done by Paul Landers of Rammstein (with the pseudo-name APUL). September 1st will see the release of a single from the album called "Der Ultimative Mann".
Laibach:
Laibach will release their latest album WAT on September 9th. No tracklist is available yet, but Laibach performed at the Sziget Festival in Budapest and premiered several new songs. Photos and a setlist of the show can be found here http://www.gla.ac.uk/~dc4w/laibach/sziget03.html. There are also many European tourdates already planned, here http://www.laibach.nsk.si/europe2k3.htm, and a North American tour is planned for October and November of 2003 but there are no details about that yet. A single "Tanz Mit Laibach" is already being well received in the European music charts.
Leaves' Eyes
As mentioned above, Leaves' Eyes consists of Liv Kristine & features members of Atrocity & Theater of Tragedy. Apparently Liv Christine has been excluded from Theater of Tragedy now so Leaves' Eyes is her only project at the moment.
Rammstein:
Rammstein is still progressing on what will be their fourth studio album. An expected release date is somewhere around summer 2004, just under a year away. In the mean time, a Rammstein DVD featuring all the band’s videos and several "making of" videos will be released around Christmas time.
Schock:
Schock has a new album titled "Glamour" which follows their first album "Erwacht".
Silber:
Jeremy Williams has gotten a rare interview with Silber after a very long time. It reveals a lot of information about the band and how it grows out of Weissglut, but is ultimately a new project. You can read it here http://www.musiknews.info/article.php?sid=177&mode=thread&order=0.
