What we did in June, 2004...

Metallspürhunde: Grrr, I had this up the other day & it just... disappeared! Fine! New concert dates for Metallspürhunde are here for the viewing & if you get the chance to see this band, DO IT! They are great & VERY nice people as well!!! Dates are as follow:

10. Juli 04: Rock La Mures Festival, Rumänien
16. Juli 04: Zillo Festival, St. Goarshausen/D
13. August 04: Magnet Club, Berlin/D
28. August 04: Goth Hard Festival, Gotthard-Pass/CH

Punk 'n Roll: Well, I thought this was interesting, too bad it's not during my visit to Germany in September... Punk 'n Roll 2004 is a big fan meeting, this year from September 17-19, 2004 at the Campingplatz Müllenbach at Nürburgring. It will include seven bands: Betontod, Die Parasiten, Die Toten Ärzte, Massendefekt, Planlos, Tpunkterror & Wilde Zeiten. More at http://www.punk-n-roll.de/

Radio Goethe: The third (& best, in my opinion) edition of the great Radio Goethe German music compilation is now ready for ordering & is only $5!!!! It can be purchased from Megaherz.com & probably also from Radio Goethe Can't tell, the site is down right now :-/

Site News:

6-26-04:
Oh yeah! I wrote a bio for Howard Carpendale! I translated 8 pages of German print-out & ok, maybe I didn't need to include his actor stuff but whatever, that's part of who he is so it's been added & believe it or not, this is a shortened version of what I had! Now THAT is what I call a BIO! ;) Ok, enough gloating, especially since my work is little & done far between :-/ I'm a lazy sod & that's who *I* am, love it or hate it... Das ist mir egal ;) Mikki

6-20-04:
Happy Birthday to Nick!!!! He is the archaic age of 22, oh wait, that's not very old yet, oh well whatever... I would also, btw, like to respond to his wicked reply to MY comment in passing about short bios, lol! I admit that I have been EXTREMELY lazy the last few months, I've been trying to read German books instead of band bios & that is wrong... I have sinned & will try to redeem myself, but although I DO steal English bios if I can find them (why not, they're already made!), I have also translated close to 40 bios from German into English (yes, I counted them one day, lol) so I don't want to hear any more about me "taking the easy way out"! :P Brat! Oh yeah, I'm here for a reason... bio added for Treibhaus. It was sent to Joe by the band & isn't very long but works for me :) Oh yeah & Nick is correct, I actually DID like Welle:Erdball! A shock for us both! lol! But they are not good driving music I don't think :-/ Good thing I didn't first listen to them in the car because almost all my new music is first listened to in the car! Aaanyway... I'll try to translate more bios, I'm just being lame, sorry! Mikki

6-12-04:
It's currently 1:37 am PST. I am up late talking to Mikki about, what else, German music. Currently I got her hooked on Welle:Erdball. Go electro music! Aroo. Anywho, on the subject of Welle:Erdball I recently picked up their CD Nur Tote Frauen Sind Schön! and very much loved it. Surprising the last 3 tracks of the CD are not real Welle:Erdball tracks, but tracks from their side projects, and one of those side projects is for the band Das Präparat which turned out to be REALLY good. So thus, I have written a bio on it. Go and read! Also on other news, I've ordered the re-releases of the first two Von Thronstahl CDs (Imperium Internum and E Pluribus Unum) from Cold Spring and also the new Camouflage album Sensor. This combined with the fact my birthday is in 8 days has left me very excited! Nick Diak

6-05-04:
Bio for Spunk2003 has been added. Thanx to the band for this short but informative info (looks like a Nick bio, one paragraph long, lol) I also dl'd some music, btw, & it's pretty GOOD! Check them out :) Mikki

Well, it's little bit later & thanks again to Spunk2003, I have added a new band to the list & bless their souls, lol, they had a bio in English on their website!!! So... a bio for My Favorite Chord has been added (another band w/ some good music on their site!)! Thanx Spunk2003 :) Btw, Nick added a bio & some bands but he won't let me tell about that now that I made a jab at him, lol, he wants to get me back ;) Go for it Niko! Let's jab! I'd also like to say, for the record, that no matter what Nick says, Simon RULES! I'm gonna see the Onkelz w/ him in Mannheim in September, whoo hoo!!!! We rule, we are cool, everyone else, uhhh... is a piece of drool??? Ok, whatever, poetry is not my forte... :-/ Mikki

6 bands have been added to the list and not ALL my bios are just one paragraph long. My dear readers you gotta keep in mind that some information is hard to come by. Just because a band has a home page doesn't mean it's a library of reference for us to use in writing our bios. Some (Like Mikki) take the easy way and use a pre-made bio from the site. I beleive in the more holistic approach from a band's site, fan sites, and even reviews. However some bands just don't have much information available. I go with what I can, and the output are the bios you read. A short bio means that not much was found, but also the bio is probably the most complete (at the time of writing mind you) and consolodated information on the band you can find. Enjoy the site people! Enjoy the bios. If you think you can do better, you probably can! Send stuff in! We got this huge list of bands that will not be completed until the year 3012, and even then they will just be "bio pending" pages, or bios written in 2001. So please, fellow members, passerby, even other bands. Send stuff to us. Well actually send stuff to Mikki, everyone emails her anyways. I exist too you know! I would like some fan mail every once in a while! *cries*. So enjoy it you scally-wags. Nick Diak

6-03-04:
Stoa is up. A really lovely German group of the etheral genre. Classical sounding, overall nice. Also DML is having DNS problems galore since Mikki and Simon have decided to go happy-go-jackey with the settings. Hopefully it will all be corrected soon. Nick Diak

6-01-04:
Well, someone signed our guestbook & asked where the band Zaunpfahl was... HUH??? There's a bio for them right here! Hehe, ok, ok, I just made it & stole their English bio (it is not very pretty English, btw, lol! But that's ok!). Thanks to Eve for connecting us to this band! :) Oh & Nick did something, too, but I'll let him talk about that, he likes to talk about his great deeds :) Mikki
