What we did in August, 2004...
Music News:Böhse Onkelz: There is a new 30 minute tribute to this excellent band on the Radio Goethe site. It's so good & sad &... well, it needs to be much longer is my only complaint ;) Much, much longer but that's just because I can NEVER get enough of the Onkelz ;) Other than that, it's really great, so go listen to it NOW! :) Bosco: The band Bosco will have their new album, "Herzblut" out in stores on July 19th. Find out more about this band at their official site. Radio Goethe: Arndt Peltner, moderator & producer for his work Radio Goethe. In his explanation about the appointment, Bernd Westphal, the German General Consul in San Francisco, said that Radio Goethe promotes an interest in Germany among young people in the US. He promotes friendship between the young people of Germany and the US. Arndt Peltner has been able to achieve something that is very difficult for government; he has reached the hearts and minds of young people through his work. Well done Arndt! You've done that & more!!! :) Schmerz: Good news: The band Schmerz have decided to resolve their differences & are planning on recording a new album! The 3 songs that were previously recorded in 2001 for their new album (before they stopped working on it) will be included. Recording will begin in September. Also, Dominik Kessler is happy to finally have control over the domain Schmerzwerk.de and there is now a message to all Schmerz fans about the new album! Stay tuned to Greg's new Schmerz site at Schmerzwerk.com for further details!
Site News:
8-23-04: 8-20-04: Wow, bio sent to us for Sub Dub Micromachine by H-Beta, very cool, thank you sooo much! Actually I've been listening to them & they are pretty damn good! I really don't say this about every band that sends us info! Trust me, lol! Anyway, I like their stuff & you probably will too if you go to their Besonic page & listen to their music. Discovery is fun! Also added a link to Party Leben Guy named Greeny signed our GB & was interested in doing some cross linking... It's a site that lists music events in Germany so seemed like a good idea :) Till next time... Mikki 08-09-04: A nice weekend respite, and I am doing it again. Ok here's another dark-ambient-neofolk band, and if you can say it, you got mad German skills. So bio for the band Tscheljabinsk65 is up. - Nick Diak 08-05-04: Captain's Log, 5th of August. We have discovered another DML bio in low orbit, initial analysis reveals it to be the neo-folk neo-classical band Darkwood. Set phasers on stun, good luck, Nick out. - Nick Diak 08-04-04: Four days and still going strong. I take a turn away from the harsh electro and embrace the other side of the coin - TRANCE! Today's bio is for the techno and trance artist Jendrik de Ruvo. Wave those glowsticks proudly my emo freinds! THAT'S NO ALARM - THAT'S A RAVE!!! Oh, also on another note, since I have not updated it in 3 years, my collection of German music has been updated. Woot. Nick Diak 08-03-04: Sweet jumping Jesus! Yet another bio update for DML! It's bio extravaganza here! This time we got the neofolk band Novalis. Stay tuned for more updates, at this rate, there will be alot! Nick Diak Wow! Nick is a powerhouse of bio-making this month! I made a little bio for Bosco as you may have noticed above in the Music News section, though maybe not... Still, that's NOTHING compared to Nick's contributions so far & the month has barely begun! Thanx Nick!!! :) In my own defense for being lazy, I am working on re-doing my Wahre Lügen fansite because Geocities took it down for some stupid reason w/out giving me a chance to remedy whatever it was I wasn't doing but anyway... It is now looking like a DML-clone because I am WAY too lazy to actually engage in any kind of creative experimentation :-/ I am also spending alot of time reading the Böhse Onkelz book which is 265 pages & ALL in German! This was actually a greater challenge when I was using a dictionary to figure out what was being said... I am now reading it w/out a dictionary & oddly enough am still absorbing enough info that I still somehow know what's going on! Der Wahnsinn! When I am done w/ all these side projects I will hopefully stop being stupid & lazy & actually get back to work on this site, wish me luck :) Mikki 08-02-04: Two updates in a row, boo-fucking-ya buddy. I guess the theme of harsh electro bands continues, this time the bio is for the band Virtual><Embrace. Happy reading! Nick Diak 08-01-04: It's the first of the month, so let's kick it off with a bio! This time it's the German industrial duo mnemonic. In other news, last Friday my copy of Chandeen's Pandora's Box came in. It's their last album (more like a 'greatest hits' album) but it's still really good. The Laibach North Amerikan tour is fastly approaching, and I plan on being at their show in Seattle. It's been a LONG time since Laibach has toured here, so let's go out and support them people! Until next update, enjoy the bio!Nick Diak |
