Joe's Melotron Review:
Daniella and I arrived at the Key Club in West Hollywood at approx 20.40hrs and stood in line for about 15 minutes. Luckly for us I saw one of my friend's sister there and she let us stand in line with her and her friends. Thanks Kris! Once inside, we went downstairs to do some shopping. I bought the Melotron "Greatest hits..." CD and the "Tanz mit dem Teufel" MCD. I also bought the tour shirt (Melotron one, not Covenant) and two Side-Line Magazines. I tell you now, I spent WAY too much money that night! At approx 21.20hrs Melotron went onto the stage. I don't remember what order the songs were in, but they played at least "Brüder", "Dein Meister", "Kindertraum", "Alles von dir", and "Ich will dich" (I think). This band fucking rox! So much emotion from the singer. Unfortunately, the crowd sucked. A bunch of Rivets and Goths thinking that they are too good for this band. I thought that the band was marvelous. There were a couple other people that I noticed that were singing along and dancing, but for the most part, the crowd was lame. After Melotron left the stage (with no encore :( ) my friends and I proceded out front of the club for a cigarette. I talked to a couple people about Melotron including on guy that had DJed a show for them and Apoptygma Berzerk a couple years ago in Sweden. He was interesting. After finishing my conversations and my cigarettes I went back inside. At about 22.30hrs Covenant went on and played. Of course, they played "Dead Stars" and "Like Tears in Rain". Personally, I found their stage show very boring. No energy. No emotion. This band is definately better on CD than Live... I don't think I'll see them in concert again. Not worth the money. We left the club as Covenant started their second song in their encore. Over all, Melotron has made a new fan. I'm definately going to support this band. Perhaps we can eventually get an interview with this band for Deutschmusikland!
