The band, SprottenRock, was founded in the raw winter of 2001 as a means to have some fun playing music together. Playing trendy tunes or music that would please the critics was never part of the plan so it was quite amazing when the "Rollmopsfressen" (whatever that is), a short time later, blossomed from "secret tip" to one of the most active bands in northern Germany. Their live performances landed them with: Semifinale Emergenza 2003/2004, Semifinale Deutscher Rock & Pop-Preis 2003, Semifinale BandNetAward 2004 & a concert with DJMDG. They have also made themselves known on the internet, walking away with various #1 & "Song of the Day" placements. Their slogan, which still applies to this day is: "Sagt NEIN! zur Quetschbusenbrünetten mit PC-Stimme und JA!!! zur fünf häßlichen Kielern, die es sich in den Kopf gesetzt haben, mit ehrlicher Rockmusik wieder für frischen Wind in Deutschlands Hallen zu sorgen!" (Well, I'm not sure what "Quetschbusenbrünetten mit PC-Stimme" are but say NO to them & "YES to 5 (edit: now just 4- M) ugly guys from Kiel who took it into their heads to provide a fresh wind through the halls of Germany with honest rock music!" Something like that anyway ;))

Musically, the band combines cocky German rock with a proper dose of Dreck, Ska, Punk & Pop to create a style of music completely their own. Depending on the situation the songs can be happy or melancholy & some just kick the ass up a certain subject. Self irony & sarcasm are constant companions in the lyrics & are combined with catchy refrains & hard to forget stories of hamster murder, crazy professors, masturbating extraterrestrials, world pain, past loves & sometimes simply sex. Besides this, the band's umpteen live shows throughout the various Bundesländern have shown everyone that this band is a force to be reckoned with!

Tiefenrausch: over 20 tracks with the music video to "Chicken Killas" (apparently killing small animals is an interest of theirs ;))

2002:
Demo-CD: 3 studio & diverse live tracks from 2002 & 2003

2003:
Couchparty: the first real studio creation with over 10 tracks in A-1 quality. (Review can be found here.)

Musico-Sampler: 21 bands, over 70 mn of rock. SprottenRock is there with "n' Abendstimmung"

2004:
Band Box-Sampler: created in cooperation with Talent City & Music Support Group, this includes some of the most promising bands from the BRD. SprottenRock contributed "Alter Mann" & "Couchparty"

Deutschrock.com-Sampler: 18 winners supplied a track. SprottenRock? "Couchparty".
