![]() ZSK:Taken directly from their MySpace page:The story of ZSK sounds like a classic Punkrock fairy-tale. Four friends started a Punkrock band and began practicing in the basement of their parent's house. The first demo-tape sold over 500 copies and beside shows in small clubs and squats, they played generator-gigs in parking lots, of the big halls of NOFX, VANS WARPED TOUR and the SKATEBOARD WORLD CUP. This brought them a lot fans, gigs with THE EXPLOITED, AGNOSTIC FRONT and THE DISTILLERS as well as a record deal. In 2002 they released their first full-length record Riot Radio produced by Flo V. Schwarz and recorded in the Woodhouse Studios, Hagen, including a track by ROGER MIRET from AGNOSTIC FRONT. Riot Radio was a bombshell and received nationwide attention by the scene and the music press. Even Duane Peters of the US BOMBS was enthusiastic about the album: "Kick ass album! Kick ass production! A great band with a lot of energy. This album is the best start for a young band like ZSK." In the following year ZSK continued to play in almost every club in Germany, Austria and Switzerland sharing stages with TERRORGRUPPE, US BOMBS, DOWN BY LAW, CHAOS UK and many more. In 2003 they got invited by ANTI-FLAG to join their entire European tour. The tour "No more War, One People One Struggle" supported the political work against the impending war against Iraq. During this Tour ZSK and ANTI-FLAG recorded an anti-war song with the DONOTS, which was even featured on MTV. After this tour and more than 200 shows since the start of the band, ZSK took some time to write a couple of new songs and in October 2003 they entered the famous Horus Sound Studios in Hannover in order to record 13 new songs which got them an record deal with BITZCORE records from Hamburg. With BITZCORE (home of TURBONEGRO, THE BRIEFS, TURBO ACs and many more) they released the EP "If liberty means anything at all". The new record "From Protest To Resistance" came out in late 2004. With "From Protest To Resistance" now ZSK toured with bands like DIE TOTEN HOSEN, BAD RELIGION, THE (INTERNATIONAL) NOISE CONSPIRACY, DONOTS and many more. The video "Keine Angst" got rotation and airplay on German music television. The new Record "Discontent Hearts And Gasoline" will be released April 28th on BITZCORE / EMI. -Mikki 10/06 More at: |
