Zaunpfahl already exist since early 1994. The band developed from the rests of a Trash-Metal-Union and on the other hand from a Punk-Project - and stayed in this line-up over the years (everyone age group ´75):

Gogo - drums
Thom - Bass, much voice
Goethe - Guitar, less voice

Right from the beginning we paid much attention to the lyrics (and that they are understandable!!!), and we couldn't break through foreign languages by now. But things change! The new CD even includes text fragments in Spanish and Neo-Hindi. The sense, however, will no longer be closed to attentive listeners.

Words like Blood and Evil are appearing on the new CD quite often, but it happened almost unconsciously. We keep distance to persons existing in reality (e.g. skater) and events (mass murders, sexual acts and so on). The lyrics cover a wide field (critics on society bla bla bla). Most important is the flicker of joy that stretches through all lyrics.

Sometimes it happens that some visitors of our concert feel attacked by our lyrics. On the other hand other ones can exactly identify with it. We always try to hold a mirror in front of people's face to confront them with their own deepest being. This might be the reason for a kind of hate-love concerning people and band. It's Punk rock...

In general, our band is always seen as kind of Punk - and we like it! But you can find our roots even here: AC / DC, NWOBHM, conventional German Rock, or "just Metal". So we gave our music an own nickname: Hardcoreinfluencedgermanmetalpunkrockrap!

By now we already performed about 300 times. It begins with our first concert in a lorry and goes further to Festivals in front of 2500 people. But we like club gigs most - where you still have a look into people's "normally evil" face!
