  Umbra et Imago was founded in 1991 by a man named Mozart and experimented with Goth, New Wave and EBM motives of that time. It was the first German indie band dealing with the subject of S/M, thus becoming a pioneer for many other groups. In 1992, Umbra et Imago's first record "Träume Sex und Tod" came out, which had such a positive response, that Mozart was invited to take part at the ZILLO-Festivals at the end of that year & by '93, he had moved to the top of the gothic scene. The second record "Infantile Spiele", had a big dancefloor hit with "Gothic Erotic", played in scene discos all over Europe. Many successful CD's later, a limited edition CD called "Mea Culpa" was released in 2000... songs collaborating w/ Tanzwut & another w/ Peter Heppner (Wolfsheim), as well as a cover of Falco's "Rock Me Amadeus", a poster, 2 autographs & a "blood pen" *Scaaary!*.
