![]() To Rococo Rot:The palindrome named To Rococo Rot is an experimental electronic group formed in Berlin in 1995. At the time, To Rococo Rot was a multimedia art exhibit formed by the brothers Ronald (drums, effects) and Robert (guitar, electronics) Lippok. At a suggestion by the gallery, they pursued a direction in recording music instead. To assist in this endeavor, To Rococo Roc was joined by Stefan Schneider, a bassist from the instrumental group Kreidler from Düsseldorf. In late 1995, To Rococo Rot’s self titled debut album was released. To Rococo Rot’s second album, Veiculo, was released in 1997, and their third, The Amateur View, in 1999. Their newest album, Music is a Hungry Ghost, was released in 2001. To Rococo Rot has also remixed a variety of artists, such as Leftfield, Appliance, Mira Calix and Wolfgang Voight. The music of To Rococo Rot is that of a music landscape, a pattern of interwoven electronics, sample sequences, groovy basses, and luscious keyboard textures. -Nick Diak 10/03 More at: |
