Tokio Hotel:

Mostly translated, very much edited from the official bio:

Their style is unusual, their sound authentic with German lyrics and with their mysterious and captivating radiance, Tokio Hotel pulls the audience immediately under their spell. They're undoubtedly different, like nothing else before. The success of Tokio Hotel is unstoppable. From 0 to #1 on the charts, where the single, "Durch den Monsun", remained for weeks in the top spot, gold status in Germany and Austria, nominations for "Best Newcomer" by Comet, Echo and 1 Live and high praise from critics across the country are just the beginning. With the release of their debut album, "Schrei", Tokio Hotel has opened up a new chapter in their sensational success story. Eagerly anticipated by fans, the full range of the band's sound is presented - Tokio Hotel has set about raising the bar on the music genre's standards and are soon planning to rock the entire country live.

The sensational success of Tokio Hotel caused some critics to wonder how a band so young - the members are between 16 and 18 years old - would prove themselves live. However from the first seconds of their shows it became clear that this was where they belonged. "We are live and we can play and want to more than anything. Because that's how it all began - on a stage!" explains lead singer, Bill. With countless live shows in the summer of 2005, Tokio Hotel captured audiences across the country and played at the end of the festival season before 75,000 spectators.

Tokio Hotel lives their sound. Making music has been a part of their lives for many years now. Leadsinger and songwriter, Bill (16), has been singing and writing lyrics since he was 9. His twin brother, Tom, has played guitar for 6 years and was, as well as his brother, musically encouraged by his stepfather. Together the twins discovered a love for music & also together have followed it's path. Even if Bill stands in front through his passion for singing and lyrics, Tom supports the back on stage and is equally charismatic; they gladly share the spotlight with one another. At the age of 10 they both started taking lessons and working on their talents. Only 2 years later - 2001 - at an appearance in their hometown of Magdeburg, Bill and Tom met bassist Georg (18) and drummer Gustav (17). They founded Tokio Hotel and immediately started working on songs. Gustav also had some experiences from a previous band to contribute.

Only half a year later, the band was already playing its first concerts in several clubs in the Magdeburg area. Audiences were enthused by their shows and the unusual charisma of the band. It wasn't long after this that the music industry took notice of them. Two years ago Tokio Hotel started working with a producer and songwriter team consisting of Peter Hoffmann, Pat Benzner, Dave Roth and David Jost. Thei goal was to lead the band's sound on a more professional path.

The single, "Durch den Monsun" was released in August 2005, the album "Schrei" the next month. Both went gold and a tour is on it's way because on stage is where they belong, really... That's where it all began and that is where the success story of Tokio Hotel will be further written... -Mikki 10/05
