The Plums:

The Plums was founded in 1997 by CJ, Silch and Schorschi who had previously played together in a band called Dust Bowl. They described their brand of Deutschpunk as "Sexykinderzimmerrockhyperpopfloppiger Melodicplumpunk".

At the end of May, 1997, they recorded their first demotape, "The Plums", which apparently wasn't that good. This was followed by their first concerts with bands such as Yeti Girls, Baken Beans, Die Heiligen 3 Könige and Farmer Boys.

Concerts continued through 1998 and in 1999, the demo-CD, "-samba united-", was recorded. Despite some good appearances, drummer, CJ, was losing interest in punk rock & rehearsals took place less often all the time. Then in the summer came the big disaster: For a punk rock birthday they played under an expressway bridge & nothing went right. The drums fell over constantly, not a single song was completed & after this the band stopped rehearsing & had basically broken up.

In 2000, even though the band was no more, 2 songs from "-samba united-" were released by Vitaminepillen-Records on the "Millennium Madness 2- Punk Rock 2000" sampler and in 2001 the song, "Wenn ich groß bin" was released on the sampler, "Street Attack Vol. 1" by Noisegate Productions. This same year, after a 2 year pause, 3 guys, Silch, Schorschi & Jogi on drums now (CJ had decided somehow that New-Metal-Musik was cooler than punk :-/), began rehearsals anew. Concerts followed & a new demo-CD, "Bitte! Nur zu!" was released in August, 2002. Unfortunately, they recently decided to call it quits again. Maybe we'll see them again 2 years from now :) -Mikki 1/03
