The Mystery:

Taken from their official site:

Female fronted melodic metal - that's how they describe their sound:
"The Mystery", founded in 1996, present "Scars", their first official album after two self-produced CD's, "... where the wind blows freedome" (2002) and "Facing the Storm" (2003), and are setting a new course on the market with it.

Metal bands with female singers are no longer anything new but on this CD you won't find the typical opera style such as with "Nightwish" or "Within Temptation" but an exceptional voice belonging to singer Denise Olbrich. Also the songs, mostly written by guitarist Alex "Thunder" Martin, aren't stamped by modern trends. You'll find explicit traces of 70's hard rock and 80's metal but for all that it sounds refreshing, dynamic and passionate, also because of the pushing work of the rhythm parts of Christian J Rüther on bass guitar and Daniel Kahn on drums - music which doesn't crave only a rocker's heart.

One who has seen the pure energy of this young band's live shows can confirm this. Whether with chartbreakers like "Die Happy" or "Subway to Sally" or with rockers like "Flowing Tears, whether with death or trash metal bands like "Final Breath", "Tankard", "Die Apokalyptischen Reiter", "Suidakra", "Perzonal War" or with true-metal bands like "Majesty", "Unrest" or "Rebellion" - "The Mystery" always displays charm and scores with fans and reviewers.
In Bosnia they celebrated with 10,000 enthusiastic audience members in 2004. Locations such as the "LCB" and the "Börse" in Wuppertal, the "Underground" in Köln, the "Matrix" in Bochum, the "Stahlwerk" in Düsseldorf and many more have been brought & will further be brought to their trembling knees by "The Mystery"

"Scars" was produced at the TTS-Studios and crows with 12 songs which wrestle so deep into the auditory canals that they will bound the listener for a long, long time. Distributed by ALIVE, the CD was released on Oct. 14, 2005. -Mikki 12/05
