Punk-Rock without Guitars!

This is a real one man band. In the middle of the nineties Heino THANHEISER played in a band called" Paranoide Syndrome". And this name also gave away the band's attitude ... music dominated by Heino's six-string bass and his sick texts. He told, that he took everything to extremes and increasingly enjoyed his part as a psychopath. In 1997 the band released a CD which marked the end of this project. The CD wasn't met with a lot of interest because the band didn't have any lobby. But at least among their friends it's cult...

From 1998 onwards Heino started composing new songs. He wasn't so interested in finding increasingly more difficult bass lines with as many notes as possible any more. He concentrated on the composition itself instead. What he had only put into the bass beforehand, he gave to four instruments. In addition he started playing with a pick. Before that Heino only used to play with the fingers or the thumb ( the chords, too). The pick made it possible for him to play the chords much faster. Heino had experimented with distorted sounds before and so he started to play the bass and the guitar at the same time. To play a proper guitar was never really on for him. Heino is a passionate bass player. The first song he produced at that time was "Narbenherz". After that he contributed to samplers such as "Partisanen 5" and "Schlachtrufe BRD 6".

Together with another band Heino started to rehearse some songs for a live playing (Markus/guitar, Georg/guitar, Christoph/bass und Chrisi/drums). In 2000 Heino released the album "Bässerwisser" on the label "Subdominante Tonträger" he had founded himself. In the next two years they had lots of gigs and also a lot of fun. In 2005 came the new album titled "Wer erwachsen wird... hat verloren!" and the rerelease of "Bässerwisser", both on Nix-Gut Records.

Unfortunately the band hasn't got enough time any more to meet regularly - a fact that Heino really regrets and misses. For 2006 THANHEISER plans to start up again with a new band and new musicans.

At any rate Heino is working on new songs at the moment and there will be a third "Thanheiser-album" - that's for sure, the question is only when this will happen. -Mikki 11/05
