![]() Tanzwut:Sounding like a cross between Joachim Witt, Knorkator, In Extremo and Rammstein, the "young" band Tanzwut have blazed a path all their own on the German musik scene. They have hard, pounding guitars, mixed with wind instruments, keyboards, a deep-voiced lead singer, that sounds like Till Lindemann on speed, a woman with a voice more enchanting than Bobo's, pyrotechnics, a stage show to rival Rammstein (but peasant's stocks can't live up to Büch Dich), and great lyrics (OK, so I have no idea what they're saying, but it goes with the musik). Their line up is: Teufel- singer; Brandan- guitar, dudelsack; Castus- drehleier, schalmeien, dudelsack, drumscheit, sister, singer; Wim- dudelsack, schalmeien; Koll.A- dudelsack, schalmeien; and Tec- keyboards, programming. With their first album released on March 1st, 1999, self-titled "Tanzwut", they showed Germany, and the rest of the good musik-listeners of the world, what they can do. Tanzwut even showed off their song covering skills by using the Black Sabbath hit "Iron Man" and turning it into "Eisenmann". They followed "Tanzwut" up with their newest and second album, "Labyrinth der Sinne", which won't be released until July 17th, 2001. Since the album hasn't been released yet, I used my evil MP3 pirating sources to listen to some of the songs on the album, and I am pleased with how they sound. They haven't changed their style much, but they still progressed as a band, which is what I like in bands. If you like any of the four bands mentioned in the first sentence, then I suggest that you listen to Tanzwut, my new favorite band. :) -Ashleigh 11/01More at: |
