![]() StaatsPunkrott:Translated from their official bio:StaatsPunkrott have an output that an experienced punkrocker can only dream of. The four punkrockers, with the average age of 20, in their four years of existence just put out their fifth release, a self-titled EP produced by Flo V. Schwarz (ZSK, Montreal, Pyogenesis) that was released on Hamburg Records. After the band, which was founded at the end of 2003, had released their self-produced album, "Reden ist..." (remarkably a mere 6 weeks after their formation), they were given a contract by the big scene label, Nix-Gut, in the summer of 2004 and by the fall of this year had already released their label debut , "Ding Dong! Möchten Sie eine Punkband kaufen?". This was followed by the LP "Größenwahn - jetzt!" (November, 2005), "Pimp my Riot" (April, 2006) and more than a dozen sampler contributions, which emphasizes the type of go-getting and notable band that StaatsPunkrott is. It is also thanks to the unusual feature that every band member contributes to the songs which they sing themselves and thus, through the influences of all four band members, Jänz Jensen (guitar), Mr. Data (guitar), John Lemon (bass) and Chris der Berg (drums), that the typical StaatsPunkrott sound and mix of serious punkrock and funpunk is put out. Enthusiastic live shows in Germany, Austria and Switzerland is just one more way that they showed themselves to be a go-getting band. From their debut in April, 2004, on, the four guys have had almost no concert free weekends and absolutely no concert free months. In the course of the time they have stood on stage with pretty much everyone with a position or name in the German scene: Normahl, Dritte Wahl, Marius (Ton Steine Scherben), Fahnenflucht, Betontod, Sondaschule, Hass, A.C.K., Rawside, Troopers, Sik, Montreal, Der dicke Polizist, Cor, Rote Ratten (HbW), Zaunpfahl, Molotow Soda, Pöbel&Gesocks, Fuckin Faces, Skeptiker, Sonne Ost, No Exit, Lak, Wärters Schlechte, Freiboiter, Onkel Tom Angelripper, Kafkas. Festivals, of which a few they headlined, followed and in 2006 they could be seen on the Schlachtrufe BRD tour. That everything is bearing fruit for the punkrockers from Baden Württemberg: Their fanbase within German speaking areas continues to grow and grow and allows the band to keep looking forward and that is just what they're doing with their new EP which proves that punkrock can be made fun and still be taken seriously. To sum it up: There is no end in sight because: "If I knew today that there would be no tomorrow, that everything would change, for me it's still not too late!" ("Selbst wenn ich heut schon wüsst, dass morgen nichts mehr steht. Das alles anders ist wär es für mich noch nicht zu spät", in case I mucked that up) -Mikki 7/07 More at: |
