 The Sound Monkeys:Translated from their MySpace page:The Sound Monkeys are a four man band from southern Germany who were formed in Immenstaad in 2009. The band plays rock with clear garage and power pop elements. After Jonas Pommitz and Raimund Rieger began to occasionally make noise in Raimund's basement, Jonas got to know Andi Heck at his school, who also happened to play guitar. After some practices, the three came together to form a band from which many of the current songs came into being. The bassist, Marius Rogg, also a school friend, was quite easily forced into getting himself proper bass equipment and playing and soon the fourth man was in the boat and the official band founding took place in the beginning of 2009. The band's sound could be described as "garage rock" (they DO practice at times in a garage) without the heavy retro borrowing. There is also a proper portion of honesty and catchiness and the good old aunt "ROCK" as a dominantly recurring theme. Characteristic of the band from Immenstaad are the lyrics, most of which are punkish and yet also serious going as far as melancholic. After their first appearance, which was met with a fantastic response, The Sound Monkeys decided to record their first album, which they've been selling on their own on CD-R since September 2009 and is called "Something About What???"
