![]() Sonic Front:Taken directly from their bio info on their website:What do you get from being too heavy to be pop-rock and to be too dark, melodic and deep to be metal? Well, ask the German band Sonic Front: a lot of critic praise in magazines all over Germany, radio airplay in the USA (KUSF, San Francisco), Canada and of course Germany, live perfomances together with bands like Blackmail, Harmful, Farmer Boys, Think About Mutation etc., first place in the MyOwnMusic-online charts with their song "This wreckage I own" and #7 in the Netmusiczone-charts with "Speeding time" and last but not least: Sonic Front won the "Sixpack"-bandcompetition in lower Saxony in 2001. Sonic Front is a heavy electronic rock band rooted in Hannover, Germany. Huge walls of heavy guitars, driving, yet, spherical keyboards and very characteristic vocals exemplify the band's sound. After gaining a lot of critic praise in magazines like Rock Hard, Legacy, Musiker and others for their debut album "Are you lost?" in 2000, Sonic Front have just finished their sophomore album "Depart". First reviews in various magazines and fanzines celebrate the new album as a great album from a maturing band whose unique sound cannot be compared to any other German act. The songs on the album are powerful and deep but also very harmonic that don’t sound "German" at all. In fact they sound more like bands such as Filter, Stabbing Westward or for example Vast. Combined with their reputation for high-energy live performances the band is one of the promising young acts in the German alternative/industrial rock scene.
Highlights: 2001: Sonic Front wins the "Sixpack"-bandcontest 2000: Sonic Front headlines the "Fährmannsfest"-festival in front of 6.000 people, their first album "Are you lost? " is released and gains euphoric reviews in the press as well as on various webzines in the internet. This info is a little old & they recently lost their guitarrist, Christoph, when he died at 28 from cancer... They are carrying forth however, ever with him in mind I'm sure. Best of luck to you guys & everyone should buy their CD's, they're a very good band!-Mikki 7/05 Update: The new, and sadly last, Sonic Front album, "Pieces", was just released but can only be purchased, at this time, from the band itself.
