![]() Rasta Knast:Rasta Knast was founded in Jan. '97 by Hoehnie & Martin K., they recorded, just for fun, that same month the EP "Probegepogt", Martin K. playing drums, guitar, bass + vocals - and Höhnie: guitar + vocals. Surprisingly the EP immediately became a success in the German punk-scene and sold very well. The demand grew to play these songs live and Holger and Martin V. from WONDERPRICK helped out at the first gigs. January '98, during the production of the first LP "Legal Kriminal", Konrad (ex-ABSTÜRZENDE BRIEFTAUBEN) joined the band as bass-player and sung some choirs's for it. For the forthcoming gigs they found Carsten (ex-EMILS) as drummer but he was replaced by Eric (ex-GAINSAY!) in April'99.Next came "Die Katze Beisst in Draht" that even surpassed "Legal Kriminal's popularity. In March, Eric left & was replaced by ex-Anti-Körper drummer, Phil who is with the band still. In 2000 they released their second EP, "Turistas Alemanes Asesin@s which had two original songs & 3 covers, all sung in Spanish. Soon after a following Brazil tour, Konrad left due to illness & Höhnie left because of personal differences. New guitarist/singer is Florentin from The Annoyed & their new bassist is Thomas from FFA. Their newest, "Bandera Pirata", came out in June of 2001 on Nasty Vinyl & Plastic Bomb Records & was followed by another tour through Brazil. Their name, btw is in imitation of the classic Swedish band, Asta Kask. As they say, "Stay rebellious & trust in punk!!!" Site is in English & German... -Mikki 6/02 More at: |
