![]() Polarlicht 4.1:Translated from the official website:For most of the story, there is actually nothing groundbreaking. After several years of being a successful DJ and the publication of two very limited compilations in 2000 and 2002, Ronny J. soon found out that simply playing music was more of a job than an actual fulfillment of his desire. Musical ideas and compositions steadily developed during this time and considerably increased his production. The one man project "Polarlicht 4.1" was born. The goal of the project was and is the production of an all-around and melodic electro-industrial in a way that was previously quite rare. The songs are often supplemented with sampled statements, opinions, and thoughts which support the meaning of the individual song to the listener. These samples are placed in the same way as an additonal instrument would be played in the music. An exact date of the band's foundation is not really existent. For a musical style and influences, an example would be the admired partners Sonar or Ah Cama-Sotz. With the necessary equipment, over time Ronny J. began to conceive his many ideas and song concepts. In only a few months almost 30 songs and song structures emerged which were then quickly built on and refined into the final 12 songs. A lot was experimented and done by hand. He decided to title the quickly produced debut album "Industrielle Hypnose" (Industrial Hypnosis) which was self made despite having only a few experiences with production. There was neither the desire nor financial ability to put the production in someone else's hands, so it was decided to put the production of the CDs into the intelligent process of the playing. "Industrielle Hypnose" was released on 8 November 2002 in that way, and in July 2003 as a pressed work of the newly established record label Zone 30. Moreover, the CD is available through Black Rain, Emmo.biz, and Nova Media as well as several foreign sellers. A limited edition in a special blue case came from the first pressing of 500 pieces which are hand numbered. There is also a very limited metal boxset of only 22 pieces which was released in June 2003. It includes the limited edition CD, a T-Shirt, a folder and sticker, and a new 3" mini-CD entitled "Transparent" which has 4 new unreleased songs. "Transparent" is only available in a very small pressing of 50 copies and is only available by Zone 30 through mailorder. -Gregory E. Pilling 12/03 More at: |
