![]() Pesticide:Translated from their MySpace support page:Band: Six nice boys from the high north got together in order to give the world of NuMetal a new feel with passion but also with humor and a definate wink of the eye. Diligence, as well as quick success, showed a confirmation of their intentions as, even before their first appearance, the name Pesticide raced through the local and Germany-wide scenes because of their well thought out concepts, their internet presence and the outstanding band photos by photographer, Jonas Ziegler. In a short time Pesticide also found many international fans, who were quickly demanding a recording of their first songs on a CD. The guys from Pesticide fulfilled this wish as quickly as possible and self-produced their first 5-track CD, "01". Soon after, their first concert took place, giving fans the opportunity to resound in the same four walls as the band. The demand became greater, diverse song ideas were in existence and as quickly as possible, without losing quaility, they were refined and produced. After no more than three quarters of a year after the founding of the band (They were founded in April, 2006, in the current line-up) their self named and, again, self produced debut album came out on December 22, 2006. For the responsibility of recording and mixing the album one must look mainly toward guitarist, Martin, who searched months long, day in and out, for the best possible sound. In the meantime, their singer, Dominic, was given the job of creative child, designing the graphic art for the cover. One can see the end product for themselves and mustn't hide it behind other commercial releases - on the contrary! The clips of the new songs represented on their internet site, the presentation of their first video material as well as the establishment of their own site on the web portal, "MySpace" has provided many bookings and further progression for the band. Additionally, the boys have taken care of merchandising for their fans, as this this was another enquiry that had increased. T-shirts, girlies, hoodies, caps, buttons, stickers, etc were designed and professionally made. After the last three concerts the money is slowly coming in to cover the time, finances and strength sapping investments of the last year. The concerts are well received and the fanbase of "Pestboys" and "Pestgirls" is ever increasing worldwide. Project Pesticide is almost self running now. The boys from Pesticide, however, do not rest. They work continually on new song ideas and above all else, their live performance. They want to offer their fans and audience members something special - with sound technics but visually as well. New gimmicks are always being sought and all possibilities are considered. It's clear - Pesticide are at the beginning of their career thus their heart, desire and creative potential will not be exhausted anytime soon. At the moment, they are concentrating on their live presentations and marketing their CD - the idea for album #2 is already being considered. Pesticide can no longer be held back. Development of the band: After Martin (lead guitar), Thomas (drums), Olaf (bass) and Stephan (rhythm guitar) had been musically active for over 15 years, in 2005 Sunny arrived to cover the job of synthesizer, samples and percussion. With his electro projects, "Abscess", "Type" and "Concrete Nature", Sunny already had notches with worldwide success and a mass of experiences that he invested completely in Pesticide. It was also at this time that the name Pesticide was deemed well fitting and has been ever since. It soon became clear to these five creative minds that their potential shouldn't be allowed to rot in their costly and self equipped practice room or in one of the band production studios which were booked in a circuitous manner through the encouragement of friends, acquaintances and such in order to get their demo recorded. Perfection was still lacking, though, until the beginning of 2006, when the right singer, Dominic, was found. Now the era of Pesticide was ready to make it's start and the band went into overdrive. With their merging of hard guitars, samples as well as the inspired voice of their singer, Dominic, Pesticide didn't invent something completely new but nevertheless brought a fresh wind into the scene. Pesticide are in no way fixated on one direction and become comprehensive to the scene - quickly known for their demanding creations with musical elements from all type of musical styles. Wicked tongues like to simply classify the sound as NuMetal. That is no problem for the six guys of Pesticide to be portrayed as such because it is just this game with cliches that amuses them. Especially visually and live, Pesticide will always continue to surprise. 6/07 Update: On March 20, 2009, Pesticide announced an official break-up on MySpace. This is devastating to the fans but there are offshoots already in the making, one of which is Under[base] with Dominic "J. Stealth" & Stephan "Nevermen".
