Pearls of Dew:

Taken directly from their homepage (5/05):

Pearls of dew was founded in 2001 by Simone (vocals, lyrics, songwriting and production) and Christian (keyboards, songwriting, sounddesign and production).

In 1998 they started together as an minimal/electronic band with german lyrics called “Klangzeit”.

During the following two years the music became harder and more electronical, so the two musicians decided to rename “Klangzeit” into “Pearls of Dew”.

Influenced by acts like “BiGod20”, “Dance or Die” and “Leather Strip”, Simone and Christian produced several electronical tracks with catchy hooklines and mixed up german and english lyrics. This mixture of electro-sounds combined with polished arrangements, Simone´s unmistakable voice and the focus on hooklines are still today the trademarks of the individual style of Pearls of Dew. The “kunstprodukt”-ep, self-released in winter 2002/2003 via online-shop, was a selection of the favourite tracks.

The reviews in the print-mags (Zillo, etc…) and online-zines (electrowahn.de, original sin, etc…) were excellent and tracks like “Golem”, “Tinkerbell” or “Dirt breeds disease” are still two years after their release on the playlists of clubs, radiostations or favourit-tracks-lists in Europe and America. In February 2003 “The original sin” has elected “kunstprodukt” as No. 2 for “Album of the Year 2002”.

The Pearls of Dew-remixes for other artists got great reviews, too.

In Summer 2002 Pearls of Dew remixed Nachzehrer´s “Devil´s Kiss” for their maxi-release, later that year Nocomment (“Little Boy”) for their bonus-section of the “Best of Nocomment”-2CD.

In May 2003 Pearls of Dew reached the DAC-Charts (German alternative music-charts) with their remix of Namnambulu´s “Memories”. The limited single contained beneath the PoD-version remixes of NNB, Kartagon and others. The next remix in summer 2003 for Carnival of Dream, (“Schwerelos - club-mix”) reached the DAC-charts,too.

Pearls of Dew remixed Equatronic (“Shame”) and an old Lights of Euphoria- song “In love with the night” end of 2003. As fans of the discontinued label “Zoth Ommog” it was obvious to produce an “old-school”-EBM-remix in the PoD-style for LoE´s best-of-compilation “Querschnitt”. This track ist still in the playlists, too.

In summer 2003 Pearls of Dew got in contact with Hayo Panarinfo (Boytronic, U96). He offered to mix the cover-version of Boytronic´s “Photographs” at his Triggertrax-Studios together with his studio-partner Graham Laybourne (Joachim Witt, Prinzen). For the first time PoD added guitars to their productions. Meanwhile there were more than enough songs for a longplayer and after having produced a second s ong in Hamburg, Pearls of Dew signed at Major Records, a new record label from Hamburg, distributed by Edel Distribution. The streetdate is planned for early 2005.

The first release for Pearls of Dew on Major Records is a special version as duet by Simone and Holger Wobker (Boytronic) of the “Photographs”-PoD-remix on “Maxi” (DAC top 3).
