  No Angels are the most successful German girl bands of all time & became so in a rather unusual way. They all won a contest, the viewers voting, for a "reality soap" called "Popstars". Beating out 5000 other contestants, Vanessa Petruo, Sandy Möling, Nadja Benaissa, Jessica Wahls & Lucy Diakovska became friends & incorporated a Spice-Girl type image for each themselves: "Fire", "Ice", "Earth", "Wind" & for lack of another element they created "Spirit" as well. Their first single "Daylight in Your Eyes" went from 0 to #1 & their debut album, "Elle'ments", which was released in March of 2001, sold triple gold & double platinum!
