 Neu:A product of the German krautrock era, (with such bands as Kraftwerk and Faust), Neu! has been noted as being one of the prescient bands of that time. Formed by Klaus Dinger and Michael Rother, the band released 3 albums, before splitting. The three albums were much revered today from their groovy beats, improvisation, feedback crackle, remixing, and other experiments in melody and harmony. But Rother and Dinger didn’t get along with each other very well. This has prevented the 3 Neu! albums, (Neu!, Neu! 2, and Neu! 75), from almost never being released. Just within the last year, German pop star Herbert Gronemeyer, (of Das Boot), was able to bring the 2 musicians together to release the albums on CD. -Nick Diak 11/01More at |
