Mongofünf:

Translation sent from Kai Sattler, thanks!!:

“It’s a great feeling to have an idea and a concept and then to implement them successfully. It definitely was calculated – to deliver a phat piece of German-language music” (Herr Toshek).

With “Das letzte bisschen Heilanstalt“ (“the last little bit of mental home“), the five self-proclaimed masters of the world (referring to their song “Die Herren der Welt”) have published their debut, confronting musical Germany with a big fat lump of sound in a league all of its own: massive walls of guitar, bawdy mosh parts or buckled and bitchy bludgeoning which always remain danceable and bangable, despite the often rather eccentric song structures. Poetic German lyrics coupled with an addle-brained and ultra-aggressive singing style, and along with consequent heaviness, always a winking eye.

“Using the language one grew up in, one dreams in, when writing lyrics is a necessity to me and the main reason for Mongofünf to exist. Only in this way am I able to really paint pictures into your head. This is my invitation to you all, to dance.“ (Herr Sattler).

Extremely entertaining pop songs for the total headfuck-rollercoaster. 13 fat tracks full of insanity, sheer power and delusions of grandeur. No surprise, then, that one has found a powerful partner in Tiefdruck Musik/Universal who now ensures this little treasure is available anywhere. As a consequence, the first single, “Der Mann, der mit den Füssen spricht” (“the man who speaks with his feet”) promptly detonated into the German Alternative Trendcharts directly from zero to 16. Second single „Alles wird gut“ (“everything will be OK”) promises to be a similar success.

"I reckon `Alles wird gut` is a killer track for the clubs, too. It's gonna rock'em into the ground", guitarist Herr Toshek also promises single numero 2 a full-frontal attack on your ear drums. Speaking of which, that is also what one can expect at Mongofuenf live shows. Last summer, they could be checked out and proved themselves as an extremely high quality live band at shows throughout Germany's large cities. The stark, crazy performances, the sound without any compromises and the sheer power of their show guarantee lasting impressions.

“It’s pure energy. To me, our gigs are always cathartic experiences, a kind of soul purifying. I also scream a lot on stage even though I don’t have a microphone. It really is getting down to business in quite an aggressive way” (Herr Schlotterbeck). After numerous impressive gigs, e.g. with hardcore legends “Boysetsfire“ or the Hamburg band “Tape”, the publication of the second single in mid-February 2007 is accompanied by some more gigs, such as with Cologne greats A TENNIS DRAMA, as well as by a performance on “NewcomerTV” (WDR and HR).
