  The synthie-pop/wave band Merge was founded by Andi Friebe (guitars and lyrics) and Thomas Kabisch (vocals and lyrics) in 1999, Bielefeld - Germany. Björn would soon join the band for drums, and Holger for keyboards. The music of Merge is a bold blend. Refered to as a mixture of DE/vision and Mesh a fusion of guitars with electro, dark wave, and dance influences. A MCD, Lost In Eternity, was released March 12, 2001. This successful song would also grace multiple appearances once various electro compilation CDs, such as New Forms Of Synthetic Pop V.2.0, and Clubline Vol. II. Their first album, Lost Heroes, was released in April 2001 on the Bloodline music label. This album would climb the best selling list at A Different Drum's weekly charts, and stay there for multiple weeks. Merge's new release is the MCD single Autumn Leaf which came out in January of 2002. They will be playing at the Auftakt-Festival in Bielefeld later this month (March). More at: |
