Melotron are Andy Krueger, Edgar Slatnow and Kay Hildebrandt. These three guys are originated in a little town in former GDR. After the wall came down they could realize their dream of making music. Of course, Melotron are walking in the footsteps of bands like Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk. But, they are consequently singing in German. In 1998 the debut single "Dein Meister" (Your Master) has been released through German cult label Zoth Ommog. The song made it up to the Top 20 of German Alternative Charts. The debut album "Mörderwerk" (Murderer's Work) and the singles "Der blaue Planet" (The Blue Planet) and "Kindertraum" (Child's Dream) were following. An MCD single with the Title "Tanz mit dem Teufel" (Dance with the Devil) was released on the 17th of January 2000. The single" features remixes by Klirrfaktor and Aqualite. The second Melotron album "Fortschritt" (Progress) was released a month later after "Tanz mit dem Teufel" on the Bloodline record label. In September of that same year, a 6-track EP called E.P.Sode 3 was released. On tour with well-known acts like Front 242, Mesh and And One the band quickly gained a true and strong following. Now, after three studio albums and seven singles Melotron are among the most successful scene bands, even outside of Germany. With the release of their current long player "Weltfrieden" (World Peace) in September 2002 the foreign and overseas success is growing. Meanwhile, shows in North America, Scandinavia, Eastern and South Europe have been played. On January 27th the current single "Folge mir ins Licht" (Follow Me into the Light) has been released. The band will be on tour in the US and Canada together with Covenant in May 2003. A new album is planned for the summer of 2003 following the tour. Updated by: Joe 6/03 More at: |
