![]() ![]() In 1993 Daniel Logemann and Mirco Osterthun from Varel / Friesland started toying with electronic music and formed a project which experimented with all the different kinds and trends of electronic music. In 1998 the project's first cooperation took place with a guitarist, and the music of Massiv in Mensch underwent an alteration. For the first time, the tracks assumed something like a "song character" and some of the tracks got their first lyrics. Also at the same time the project came into contact with the singer Sarah Folkens whose harmonious voice from then on formed the counterpart to the distorted and harsh vocals of Daniel and Mirco. The music of Massiv in Mensch got more complicated and incisive at the same time by assimilating several trends of electronic music. Thus, a classic instrumental style continues to exist, and is reflected in songs like "Verlust" and "Verloren". The influences of Massiv in Mensch refers back to the EBM roots of the 1980s and bands like Front 242, Nitzer Ebb or Paranoid. The lyrics of Massiv in Mensch deal with decadent trends and defects, which disturb our social life; yet the band manage to do so without becoming political or raising their forefingers even. They wish to reflect and fathom out the human spectrum in all its facets. Arrogance, cold-bloodedness and the lack of emotion are the main subjects of Massiv in Mensch. Massiv in Mensch have signed a contract with Wire-Productions (Solms) and their debut album, Belastendes Material, was released in March 2000. -Nick Diak 2/02 More at: |
