 Kind im Magen?:Loosely translated and edited from their official bio page:Kind im Magen? is a feeling of life. The four protagonists, Allexx Pau-li (vocals, guitar), Trip Tom (bass, vocals), Gnagg Flow (rhythm guitar) and Benny von Schaumschlag (drums) live their lives exactly as the songs that they write daily depict - there are no made up stories and no arranged images, just honest art. At first the four young guys between the ages of 19 and 21 hung around deep in punk rock realms and built for themselves a considerable fanbase with three fanclubs in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Berlin. The direction that Kind im Magen? follow is clearly rocking and in the style of the bands that the four guys have playing in their CD players without forsaking their own style. KIM? love the Backyard Babies. They adore The Hives. The idolize Rancid and Green Day. "A band that isn't influenced by their models and favorite songs doesn't exist" asserts drummer and lyric writer Benny von Schaumschlag. Despite definite similarities and subconscious influences KIM?'s songs have a definite trademark by which one can always recognize their songs. At the same time, KIM?'s success has occurred somewhat in the underground. With numerous songs, they've taken part on various samplers. Amongst others they were represented on "Irgendwo in Deutschland Compilation Vol. 3" for which it's initiator received a German language culture prize. In local stores and via their homepage one can buy their first demo CD's, "Leben leben" and "Die Kinder vom Bahnhof Soho" (otherwise known as "DKVBS"). The first took off solely by word of mouth and has up until now sold 1300 copies and "DKVBS" has sold 1700 copies so far though this doesn't mean they're content with those numbers - they want more. At the end of 2004 they found a partner with S.A.D. Music with whom they hope to realize these goals. In view of the enthusiastic reactions that they've received since the band began on Dec. 24, 2001, Kind im Magen? hope to present their songs and outlook on life to an even wider audience. Their concerts have aroused interest across the country and rumors abound about the must see live show of Allexx Pau-li and Co. Moreover, KIM? often switch ideas and actions around in order to give their shows a unique quality. Two thousand readers of Live IN Magazine chose Kind im Magen? as band of the year and thus this local event magazine portrays with growing certainty a trend that can only continue throughout the country. Give them a chance & they will use it. Don't stick them in a "drawer"- they will leave it. Listen to their songs.
