Kickdown:

In November 1998, M-Kay (bass), Hexer ("Wizard", guitar), CX (vocals) and Diamond P (drums) got together in order to make their vision of a modern, cliche-free rock music style aware to the public. Hard beats and heavy guitar riffs are combined with electronic elements and samples to form the sound of Kickdown. Additionally, there are some rap style lyrics, but they do not contradict or take away from the driving guitar. In general, Kickdown mix different facets of rock music into a crossover-mix.

The January 2001 edition of Rockhard magazine released the track "Keep It In The Family" on the "Unerhört" sampler. The song also moved into the top ten on besonic.com, virtual-volume.com, and mp3.de! The album "Silicon-Church.com" was Kickdown's first to be released all across Germany, in February 2002 by Element Records / Bellaphon. Since this is not a large record label that can support them, the four musicians worked to make it succeed.

The band places their live performance above all, and the energy of the members draws the crowd in. They have proven themselves on stage along side of The Farmer Boys, Subway To Sally, Weissglut, Think About Mutation, Vader, and Onkel Tom Angelripper, as well as in many other festivals. In July, Kickdown played with the American band Sick Speed (ex- Stuck Mojo) on their tour through Germany. Their band leader Rich Ward took the lead on Kickdown's new song "My Anthem" by singing and doing a guitar solo.

In Autumn 2003, Kickdown started to think about some new musical goals. The new musical direction that the band planned turned out to be an unintentional barrier. But then, Hexer surprisingly left the band which made them decide to radically change their sound, making the electronic elements more of a background effect and playing the guitar more loudly. Vocalist Ron took on the position of guitarist, and the new singer and guitarist C. Sto joined the band.

With a fresh sound, Kickdown have appeared back in the studio and recorded a new album called "Kawoom" which has just been released in Spring 2004! -Greg 4/04
