![]() Hertzton:Translated from their band biography:In 1991 Markus Winter founded his first band and in 1993 he released his first album, "Invisible Tears" which included the radio hit, "Longing for Fire". Because of a lawsuit, the second, already completed album, "Kaleidoscope of Dreams", on which one could hear, amongst others, the Grönemeyer saxophonist Frank Kirchner as well as members of the Düsseldorf symphony, was unfortunately never released. In the beginning of 1997, a few of the songs from that album appeared on the compilation, "1992-1996". At this same time, Markus Winter wrote a short history which was successfully published in various print media. After continuing on his English album, "Memory Lane", he brought the goth project, Hertzton, into being in 2002. The untitled debut album quickly became a large success in the scene, the song, "Eiszeit im Paradies", becoming a big club hit. In a musically first class line-up of three, Hertzton toured throughout Nordrhein-Westfalen in 2003. The second Hertzton album, "SchattenTänzer", appeared in January, 2006, and had two club hits on board - the title song, "SchattenTänzer" as well as the up-tempo rocker, "Hörst du mich?". Once again it received, especially for the personal lyrics, very good reviews. The renowned Orkus Magazine recently named Markus Winter as the number one singer-songwriter of the gothic scene, a description he can easily get used to. In December, 2006, the sampler, "Metamorphose", appeared. This was a remix album which included the best songs from the first two Hertzton CD's but which included two new songs as well. "Metamorphose" first appeared only as a legal download. In 2007, Markus Winter resumed work on the English language album he'd started on almost seven years before. Its release is planned for 2008. -Mikki 5/07 More at: |
