![]() The Galan Pixs:The Galan Pixs is an evolving synth-pop band from Germany. Formed in 1993 by Stefan Kopielski (vocals) and Timo Lurgenstein (keyboards), the band was later joined by Tobias Fiddler (guitars), Henrik Fehse (guitar), and Dirk Feckenstedt (drums). The contradicting musical preferences of each member has forced The Galan Pixs's sound to evolve over the years, from pure new wave to pop-rock.Before releasing their first album, The Galanx Pixs released a variety of singles and other smaller releases by themselves. These include Trail in 93, Holocaust in Toyland in 94, and Anuschka Corazon in 97. The band was also able to tour with such bands as Blind Passengers and Oomph!. The debut album of The Galan Pixs was Pink Film Edition in 1999. Released to critical acclaim and a position on the DAC, the band found themselves participating in remix projects, one such being the remix of the imfamous EBM song "Headhunter" by Front 242 on their 'album' Headhunter 2000. The newest release by The Galan Pixs, Boredom International, was released, as the name implies, as a remedy to boredom. The album lacks any moral messages, there's no addressing the problems of today. The album is instead a movement between styles, beats, pop and rock. -Nick Diak 1/04 More at: |
