D-Zug:

Translated from their offical site & bound with some elements from their MySpace bio:

In January, 1982, the young band, D-Zug, revved into action - and how:
Sandor Szabo - vocals and guitar, "Kelle" Kämpfe - bass (now known as "K. Kämpfe") and Werner Busche on drums gained themselves publicity in record time. Their music consisted of German lyrics bound with outgoing rock as well as melodic instrumentals. Fans could identify with them because musically as well as lyrically they took their own path, far removed from the current trends. D-Zug's popularity became apparent when they found themselves headlining a show for 1100 people, appearing at various festivals and playing with Pee Wee Bluesgang and Ina Deter amongst others. All this without even an album!

Finally, in this same year, the band recorded their first, and only, vinyl record, "Tanz mit mir", which, for their music, was somewhat untypical - more akin to an NDW sound. Locally they sold hundreds of copies and toured throughout NRW. In 1983, they played a successful tour through North Wales with airplay on this British island AND with German lyrics! Sandor, the founder and namer of D-Zug, decided, however, to disband them this same year.

21 years later - December, 2004: For an appearance at a private party, Sandor decided to bring D-Zug back to life. Since he couldn't get the other two original members to attend he brought Sabine on bass (with whom he'd played in "FX") and the previous D-Zug replacement drummer Stephan (with whom he'd played in "J.F.F. Overdrive) to play for the band. It was planned as a gag but it developed into something else. D-Zug fever not only siezed the three musicians and the few original fans that happened to be present but also the others attending who had no reason to be captured by the "nostalgic" moment. D-Zug has been alive and playing live ever since.

In 2005 they released the CD-single, "Verrückt", the CD album, "Abgefahren" and another CD single, "Wir sind das Volk". Upcoming are 2 CD albums planned for a 2006 release - "Trans Europa Express" and "Tanz mir mir" (presumably a re-release or remake of their 1982 album??) Go check them out!! -Mikki 10/06
