![]() Die Perlen:Translated from their website bio:Music style: Electro-pop Die Perlen's first piece achieved a surprising amount of success on the internet and convinced the band to continue forth and in January, 2001, their first demo, "Wirf mich bitte weg!" was put together. It was created with meager resources, an old Atari used as the sequenzer & the extremely varied songs using a multitude of musical models failed utterly. The second demo, "Grauer Stern", which appeared in 3" format, faired no better. Having fun with the music was, however, their highest priority and it didn't matter to them what style direction they used in achieving this. They even included a few friends in order to bring in a "foreign" influence to their music. The third demo, "What is time?" appeared in the fall of 2002. At the same time they gave their first concert in Oefenbunker in Landgraaf (Netherlands). After having sung the lyrics on their first three demos predominantly in English, they decided to use mainly German on their current demo, "Spielbar". The song, "Bahnsteig 19", gave them extra incentive to write in German in order to better express the story. This piece was produced in June, 2003 as a spark for "Project 19" and with it they won the "19-Wettbewerb" ("19-Competition"). In the fall of 2003, the demo, "Spielbar", was finally finished being arranged & for the winter of 2003/2004 the pieces from this are being presented live. -Mikki 1/04
