Die Optimale Härte:

Die Optimale Härte is a punk rock band from Andernach, Germany who got together in the beginning of May, 1996. Shortly after this, their first demo, "Wir scheißen auf das deutsche Heer!!!" was released. This was followed by sampler releases and appearences with bands so many I dare not even list them...

In the meantime, their second tape, "Hau'n auf die Kacke" was released and in February, 1998, their debut CD, "Die Optimale Härte" was released on Paffy's Records, Andernach. On Palme-Records a split CD was recorded with the band, Schimmelbrot, under the name, "Nazischwein". Though a second CD was planned for 2001, it seems things must have changed. But a tape was released that year, 2001, just for the US, entitled "Ultimate Hardness" which included 8 unreleased songs in German and English. It can be found at the Interpunk site (link given below). In 2002, another split CD, this time with the band, Nobody's Heroes, was also released. A new guitarrist is now in place and work is rocking on! A tour is also said to be planned for the east coast this year... Will have to check on that... -Mikki 7/03
