Das Präparat is a side project of the infamous German electro act Welle:Erdball with a similar sound but different personas. The trio consists of Kirsten the night nurse (vocals and keyboards), professor Sternau (vocals and sequences, also Honey from Welle:Erdball), and doctor Georg Linde (lyrics, vocals, melodies). The band is a blend of different electro music styles – gothic, industrial, EBM, and new wave (perhaps a good visualization is take away the retro-ness and vintage-ness of Welle:Erdball and replace it with lots of gothic elements).

The first release from Das Präparat was the demo Seuche Mensch in November, 2002 which is now out of print. In June 2003 the band released their first real album Anatomie, very much keeping up with the band’s medical-related theme. Also in 2003, the band contributed the track “Anatomie” to the Welle:Erdball EP Nur Tote Frauen Sind Schön!.

In May 2004 an MCD, Tanz Mit Deinem Gefuhl, was released as a prelude for their upcoming album Homo Futura which is supposed to be released at the end of 2004. The band also made an appearance at this year’s Wave-Gothik-Treffen festival. - Nick Diak 6/04
