Crayfish:

The story of Crayfish began in the spring of 1999. Although un-named, the first line-up began with:
  • Christopher Braun: Solo guitar
  • Timm Ruge: Vocals
  • Benjamin Bruhn: Bass
  • Christopher Bruhn: Mandoline
A few months later they were joined by:
  • Jakob Krohn: Rhythm guitar &
  • Tim Schiederig: Drums
& by the winter of 1999 they had decided upon the name Crayfish.

The sound of this Elmshorn sextet (who are apparently, "dynamic, sexy, good looking & groupie flocked") is self described as a blend of melodic reggae, wild punkrock with ska influences & infectious crossover: a feast for the ears just as their stageshow is a power-loaded feast for the eyes, bringing any crowd to the boiling point.

Their first CD, "Greenies" came out in the summer of 2000 & was recorded in their practice room. The first pressing of 150 was completely sold out & more were made. They also appeared on the "NetGenNews-Sampler" in spring of 2002 (though they were apparently on other samplers as well...). Although there seems to have been some thoughts of breaking up, things seem to have resolved themselves & "Beer 'n' Sunshine" was released in the fall of 2002. (They finally broke up...) Mikki 04/03
