C.O.R.E.:C.O.R.E stands for Congress of Racial Equality & began in 1999 when Lars Oeschey & Carlos Funderburk joined together to start a music project. They first presented their ideas on the internet & after getting requests for more music & shows the two decided to start "The C.O.R.E". Other musicians were recruited & the band played their first show in the fall of 2000 consisting of Chris Wolff on drums, Charlie Striegler on bass, Carlos on lead guitar & vocals while Lars filled it out with his work on keyboards, guitar & computers. They felt though, that to completely break themselves away from the "traditional" rock sound they needed to incorporate some rap which was found in the form of XAMAX, a hip-hopper from Ingolstadt. A fusion of German hip-hop & American rock was born! As their popularity grew, the fanclub, "C.O.R.E. Corps" convinced them to produce & record a demo in Sept. 2001. Not much info on that but they continue on their path of combining classic rock w/ metal & hip-hop elements, an independent sound which can only be classified in Nu Metal/ Nu Rock.
