Chroming Rose:

A translated mixture of bios from the 2 sites linked below. After some asking about I received corrected info but the 10 year anniversary release still doesn't coincide with the 1985 founding year... Unless it means after their debut album... Don't know. Anyway, here we go:

Chroming Rose was founded in 1985 and had one of the highest ranks in the German hard rock music scene. Their melodic and energy packed style (as well as sensitive ballads) cast a spell over their fan base. After 2 demos the debut, "Louis XIV", appeared in 1990 with ex-Stranger Gerd Salewski (vocals), S.C. Wuller (guitar), Harry Steiner (bass) and Tino Mende (drums). A year later Ricki Rieger (ex-Stranger) joined as second guitarist. With him they recorded the second album, "Garden of Eden". After "Under Pressure" (1992) Cornel Schneider (guitar) came in for Rieger. In 1994 Salewski had to leave & the new singer became Tom Reiners. Next came the live album, "Art Works live now" which included recordings from the years 1991/92 and 1995 as well as another studio album, "New World" (1996). Schneider left the band. In 1999 they continued with "Insight", a modern and facette rich rock album which offered a mixture of sensitive and timeless airplay ballads and energy loaded rock songs full of melody & meaningfullness. Parallel to the release of "Insight" & as a celebration of the band's 10th year anniversary, Chroming Rose also released a strictly limited, individually numbered special edition called "The Gift" which included the "Insight" CD, the special semi-acoustic EP "Private" and an autographed postcard. These appear to be the last things released by Chroming Rose. -Mikki 1/06
