Chäirwalk:

Taken directly from their MySpace page:

For over 10 years now the Hamburger Boys are playing each gig passing their way, from big festivals to house-parties. And no matter where you go, you’ll hear people say: “What was that?” ‘Cause CHÄIRWALK is letting out the berserk on stage, and is always giving 150%.

Since their 2003 EP release “Earaction”, CHÄIRWALK seem to have knowingly modified their sound “Still No. One” sounds more mature, darker and heavier as its predecessor. “The decision to seriously work on the music was taken consciously. That the songs them-selves turn out to became much more serious was a rather unconscious development”, states TIM, drummer. ERIK, lead singer of these northern friendly guys gets a little more concrete. “It is true that everything grew more acute. My vocal-lines are very close to screaming and by constantly avoiding unimportant stuff “Still No. One” probably sounds a little more brutal.

According to bassist SIAD, CHÄIRWALK won’t leave the path of reduction and strength any time soon either. “I believe the next album we’ll be even more aggressive and stronger. Well, at least I hope so.” The bigger impact of the new album shouldn’t be sur-prising to anyone, who’s already seen the band performing before. Now CHÄIRWALK has been able to transfer this quality for the first time into the studio as well. “We’ve been not only strong enhancing our musical skills during the first 5 EPs but our technical know-how as well. And we’ve learned a lot during the recordings for the new album.” explains TIM the development, which can be heard on the album. Not for nothing ERIK correctly de-clares, “our new album gives an insight on our stile as no other one has before.”

As measured by the songs, the whole album can be described as hard, dark alternative rock, every now and then associated with a touch of 90ies stars such as Tool, Helmet or QOTSA. Taking a deeper ear into the album is worthwhile, as it is hotter than ever. “Still No. One” is a testosterone-containing, dark load of alternative-, stoner and pig-rock, which scraps the stop-sign at the 3-minute-line and surely leaves no space for misunder-standings.

CHÄIRWALK has already been able to support bands like Mustasch, Genepool, Ulme, Sunride, Payola, Flyswatter or Chewy with their wild performance. Since 2001 they’ve gave over 150 concerts and are improving each time.

You listen yourself and enjoy the extraordinary quality and hot arrangements of CHÄIRWALK.
