![]() ashton!:Taken directly from their MySpace page:Formed in 2003, the band from Hamburg describes their music as emotional new rock, which boasts a unique mixture of emotional vocals and lyrics, low tuned guitars with some sparks of delay and heavy modern drumming. The excellent balance between melodies and hardness, rolling halftime beats, catchy choruses are the qualities that manage to place ashton! well in between existing cliches and genres. The bandmembers, having previously gathered a lot of experience throughout projects and other bands, can already look back on some great successes like winning the Becks On Stage Experience Award 2005. A jury made up of Silbermond, Guano Apes, H-Blocks, Ooomph and Mtv voted ashton! into the finals where they succeeded in capturing the sold out venue's crowd. In succession to that, the band played at the biggest Festival in Germany, the Hurricane Festival (Quotsa, System Of A Down, Die rzte, 3 Doors Down, Rammstein, Oasis, Underoath, etc.) and received a great deal of appreciation. Emotion is one of the most important aspects for ashton!. ashton!s leadsinger Nick hits the spot of today's generation's disillusionment, morals, lack of love and integrity and the urge to be independent with his lyrics Stand up in the crowd and show me that Im not alone. Ashton! disagrees with shows like "Superstars" and "Starsearch". The music industry is being ruined by people who aim only for fame and money. Ashton! is not a re-enactment of a band or songs, ashton! breathe in and exhale their songs. Ashton! recorded the "Stop Silencing Yourself" EP at the Horus Studios in Hannover, Germany in 2004 which was engineered and produced by Hermann Frank (Accept, Victory) Ashton!, Christian Schnborn and Frank Bornemann (Guano Apes). Also, producer Pat Dillet (Mary J Blige, Aaliyah, Notorious B.I.G., P Diddy und They Might Be Giants) from New York contributed an excellent remix of "Stay". This song was released on the "Rock And Ride" Sampler 2005 with bands like Sick Of It All, The Butterfly Effect and 4Lyn. -Mikki 10/06 More at: |
