 5Bugs:Taken directly from their MySpace page:5Bugs are one of the absolute strongest German newcomerbands to be seen live at the time. And that's what these five guys from Berlin prove since 2001 with their smart mixture of Punkrock, Pop, Emo and Rock. Harmonic melodies meet intransigent, glaring Punkrock. One terrific hookline chases the next and let the sound of these clever boys merge into a musical tidbit. The 5Bugs invent themselves over and over again while their crisp guitarriffs and lyrics produce a gorgeous catchyness to sing along with. Grown up with classical American Punkacts like NOFX, The Ataris, Strung Out and New Found Glory as well as heavy style combos like Metallica and Iron Maiden. These influences are reflected in their music but they as well created their very own style and sound. Do It Yourself that's what counts for 5Bugs. That's how their first website came into being, their first selfbooked tour in the summer of 2003 and lastly their selfproduced debutalbum ''To No One Else Except You, released in March 2004 on a German Indie Label. The Record was mixed and produced in their own Studio, also serving as their rehearsalroom. Free from any deadline pressure they created a result to be searched for and which can easily be compared to big productions. After more than 500 hours spent in in tourbusses, more than 200 shows all over Germany and Austria with bands like Mad Caddies, Strung Out and Belvedere and a show on Rock am Ring 2006 they built up a huge enthusiastic and dedicated fanbase. Because of their overwhelming liveshows they managed to fill rockinstitutions like Berlin's cultclub SO 36, let the crowd go wild and wake a huge interest by the musicpress to receive extremely good critics by the relevant magazines. The next step is the release of the new album "TOMORROW I'LL PLAY GOD" which will be released November 3rd on ROCKHIT RECORDS accompanied by an eventful tour where the combo wants to prove that 5bugs are THE german newcomer band and should definetely not be missed! 5BUGS - music for anyone who favours kick ass sound straight from the heart. -Mikki 10/06 More at: |
