For quite some time now, Ron (v), René (g), Björn (b) and Sascha (d) have been mercilessly grabbing attention in the clubs: first under their old band name of "Headtrip" and since the summer of 2000 as "4LYN". Their demo made it's way by various routes to various DJs and without further ado, the most respected German nu-metal and crossover clubs were rocking to 4LYN, who were being tipped for a number of DJ charts.

One live pointer to the future came in October 2000, when 4LYN toured Germany along with US top sellers Papa Roach. Then in winter 2000, they booked into Hamburg's Blue Noise Studio to produce their debut album; yes, 4LYN did the album themselves together with their live mixer and it duly charted at the end of May 2001. This album and the singles "Whooo" and "Bahama Mama" have won the four Hamburg lads a big fan following, growing daily thanks to the band's genial but forceful live presence.

After appearances at the Rock am Ring/Rock im Park festivals and their first big club tour in their own right through Germany, Austria and Switzerland in September and October 2001, not to mention their third, eminently successful single "Lyn" (rel Nov 5, 2001), 4LYN are now firmly established as an integral part of the German rock scene.

The year 2002 brought intensive recordings for their second album "Neon" which will be released on September 9th. After the "Desperados Iguana Tracks"-tour with the Americans dredg and the German newcomers Cosmotron, 4LYN have been playing on festivals all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland during the whole summer. The first single of the "Neon" album, "Pearls & Beauty" has been released on July 1st and went straight into the charts. 4LYN went on their "Neon"-tour in September and October. I'm sure they're working hard now. -Mikki 2/03
